How do I report misconduct?
It is important that everyone who works for and with us maintains the highest standards of conduct, and complies with local legislation.
If an employee/volunteer, partner, or contractor finds that a misconduct has, or is about to occur, we encourage you to communicate the same to us without fear of reprisal and also that you will be protected from victimization.

All incident reports are kept confidential, and we share the details only with those who will help to process your complaint. Survivors and complainants can opt to stay anonymous throughout the process.

How do I become a member?

Why a membership fee? What does the $99 membership fee contribute to?
Most organizations – clubs, political parties, unions – levy dues or a membership fee that provides revenues to support the organization’s work and help provide the costs of maintaining and engaging the membership. Participation in Organization’s governance is restricted to ‘members in good standing’ i.e those who have paid a fee and kept their changes in contact information updated.
Do I get a tax receipt for the $99 membership fee?
No, the membership fee is not tax deductable.
I'm a donor. Do I still have to pay the $99 membership fee?
Doners who donate $99 or more every year to GSEFUSA, may have their membership fee waived on an annual basis as long as they continue to donate at or above membership fee rate.
Who is eligible to be a member?
At GSEFUSA a member is any supporter, 13 years of age or older, who supports our vision and mission, and has signed the Code of Conduct, has completed the registration process, and is approved by the Board for membership.
All members are encouraged to contribute to GSEFUSA’s work by voting on governance matters, including elections for the Board, taking action in campaigns, volunteering, and donating as they are able.
How do I renew my membership?
Renewal is fast and easy. Members are invited to renew their membership online or by submitting the required information in writing to us.
How long will it take for my membership renewal to be approved?
We will confirm your membership within two (2) weeks of receipt of payment and application.
What does it mean to be a member of GSEFUSA?
GSEFUSA recognizes that it is through the joint effort of the organization’s members, Board and staff that the governance needs of an organization are met. GSEFUSA works with members to ensure effective governing of the organization.
Members participate in the organization’s governance by:
- Nominating, contesting, and voting for elected positions
- Participating in regional and national meetings
- Providing feedback to the Board of Directors on policies and priorities
And through approving:
- Bylaws
- Special Resolutions
- Appointment of auditors

Your gift creates lasting change, and tackles the root causes of poverty and suffering. With your support, we bring hope to families facing illiteracy, ignorance, hunger and injustice wherever we operate.
How much of my donation money reaches the project?
Our latest audited financial statements show, that we spend at least 80% of funds raised on the project. The remaining 20% covers costs associated with processing and receipting donations, and audits & financial accountability, administration and fundraising costs, advocacy, or reserved for future program work.
How do I change the amount of my regular donation or my credit card details?
Thank you very much for your generous monthly support. The ongoing contribution ensures providing your community with education, safety from violence and a chance to grow and thrive. If you would like to update your credit card details or change your payment information or if are unable to maintain your current contribution, please contact Donor Relations Team at donor_relations@gsefusa.org.
Is my donation eligible for a tax receipt?
Yes, we are a Registered Charity with the State of Connecticut USA and, therefore, we are able to issue receipts for all eligible charitable donations. Generally, if you are person making a simple donation online or through the check, your gift would be eligible for a receipt. If you are an organization, foundation, your gift may not be eligible for a receipt, and we are happy to connect with you to discuss before you make your donation. How do I get a tax receipt for a gift I have made?
If you have made an online donation, you will receive an immediate confirmation that your donation has been received, but your Tax Receipt will be sent through a separate email within 30 days. If you sent us a check through regular mail, a paper receipt will be issued and sent to you via post once the donation check is processed. If you prefer an e-receipt, include a note and your email-id along with your check. If you do not receive your tax receipt, please contact our Donor Relations Team at donor_relations@gsefusa.org
I’ve lost my tax receipt. How can I obtain a duplicate?

Can I choose to donate money to a specific project or item?
When you donate to GSEFUSA, the money will be allocated to ‘general funds’. This allows us to focus on where the need is the greatest and respond as per changing priorities. It is vital that we are able to spend money where it is most needed at any given time. However, it is possible for you to specify if you would like your donation to be spent on a particular project.
What is your policy on donor data privacy? Does GSEFUSA trade, share or sell personal information?
We will not disclose any of your personally identifiable information, except when we have your permission. We are guided by the principles outlined in our privacy policy in the administration, management and evaluation of personal information in our care.

How can I volunteer?
Volunteers play a key role in helping us achieve our mission. From office work, campaigning, to fundraising, there are number of ways you can use your time and skills to support us. Many volunteer roles require only few hours over the weekend, while others involve a longer, ongoing commitment outside of office work hours.
